Hilaire Fernandes 2005 秋天訪臺行程

OFSET 創辦人暨理事長, 同時也是 freeduc 計劃與 drgeo 計劃的主持人 Hilaire Fernandes 即將於 10/24 至 11/12 訪臺。 本次行程主要經費來源為 朝陽科大資管系 執行的 「94年度教育部 "中區技專校院校際聯盟-邀請海外學者來台短期教學" 計畫」; 其他贊助與協辦單位包含 中研院自由軟體鑄造場 及樹德科大 (資工系 執行)。 以下是他的行程安排; 中部地區活動的詳細資訊, 請見 朝陽資管 公佈欄。

Subject Free Software in Education, Successes and Failures

Abstract: Free software is slowly spreading in the education sector. Compare to a couple of years ago there are now a lot of deployment examples, we will look closely at some of them and examine their differences. from these examples we will determine a couple of key elements which could bring success or failure to such deployments. finally we will speculate on possibles evolution of free software in education.

Subject Dr. Geo, An Interactive Geometry Learning Tool

Abstract: Dr. Geo is an interactive geometry software. It allows one to create geometric figure plus the interactive manipulation of such figure in respect with their geometric constraints. It is usable in teaching situation with students from primary or secondary level. In our presentation we will do a brief tour on the basics features and we will look more carefully at some advanced features of the software as macro-construction, script and Scheme figure.

Subject Squeak, Learning Object Oriented Programming with the Right Tool

Abstract: Squeak is a free Smalltalk80 implementation. It is also fully implemented in Smalltalk; a pure, simple and elegant object language. It comes with a large suite of developer tools to facilitate both beginning and advanced development. We will propose an initiation tour of the language and the environment. To finish we will also present some of the latest development of the Squeak community.

Hilaire Fernandes 簡介

法國人 Hilaire Fernandes 是 OFSET 創辦人暨理事長, 同時也是 freeduc 計劃與 drgeo 計劃的主持人。 他於 2002 年在 University of Maines 取得碩士學位, 專攻教育工程與人因介面。 他曾任教於臺北法語學校, 教授數學, 程式設計, 自然科學等科目; 也曾擔任程式設計師; 現在任職於法國西南部 Aquitaine 省的教育局。

OFSET 簡介

Organization for Free Software in Education and Teaching 是一個國際性的非營利組織, 宗旨為向教育界推廣自由軟體。 其成員以法國人為主; 但也包含英國, 義大利, 西班牙, 臺灣等國家。 它底下有許多技術研發專案, 其中的 freeduc-cd 專案曾接受 UNESCO (聯合國教科文組織) 補助, 研發的自由軟體教育光碟由 UNESCO 推薦給中南美洲等國家, 以此低門檻高自由度的方案解決數位落差問題。
